Create a template from a scanned OMR form

I am evaluating the OMR for .net. Is it mandatory to generate the OMR form using the OMR generator or can I use existing printed forms without the reference points. The use case is, the customer has a number of forms already designed and printed to work with Scantron scanners. We are trying to use those forms and capture the OMR with aspose OMR
